Dr. Chad Lemaire, Psychiatrist
Chad Lemaire, M.D., serves as Psychiatrist specializing in Integrated Behavioral Health. Dr. Lemaire’s professional interests include the interface between psychotherapy and psychopharmacology, existential issues throughout the life cycle, mental healthcare parity, disparities in access to mental healthcare services, integration of behavioral health and primary care, HIV Psychiatry, disaster response, and grief and resilience.
Dr. Lemaire earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with Highest Honors. After working as a Pediatric Oncology Nurse, he attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, graduating in 2006 as the first-ranked student in his class. Dr. Lemaire also received the Stanley Olson Award for Academic Excellence and Service and the Hilde Bruch Award for Excellence in Psychiatry.
Dr. Lemaire then completed a Psychiatry residency at Baylor College of Medicine’s Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He received the Eugen Kahn Award for Excellence in Psychiatry, given to the outstanding resident in the program. Dr. Lemaire was also in a select group of residents chosen from across the country as Fellows in the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry, where he was part of a Disaster Psychiatry Committee and contributed to writing a book on disaster psychiatry.
Dr. Lemaire has worked in various clinical and administrative roles. He has also done advocacy work around mental health and other issues that are important to him. Dr. Lemaire served as President of the Houston Psychiatric Society in 2017-18 and has served as a Board Member for the Network of Behavioral Health Providers and Doctors for Change, respectively. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, the Houston Psychiatric Society, the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society.
Dr. Lemaire continues to serve as a Clinical Instructor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine and is board-certified in General Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
In his personal life, Dr. Lemaire enjoys spending time with his family, especially traveling and spending time outdoors.
