José G. Romero is a clinical social worker – supervisor (LCSW-S) who has over 15 years of experience working as a therapist in the mental health field. He has been serving his patients at Legacy as a Therapist and as a Director of Therapy for Clinic Based services.

José earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston – Downtown and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work.

José is a collaborative therapist who walks alongside his clients as they continue their growth, healing, and finding balance as they engage in the therapeutic process. José works with children, teens, adults, and families. Clients can expect honesty that is presented with empathy and a genuine human to human experience. An avid crafter and gamer, he enjoys blending and using these skills with other therapeutic modalities to facilitate communication with his patients and help them process feelings and experiences through the use of video games, movies, media, and other types of pop culture. Jose’s approach is holistic, goal-oriented, and person centered.

During his free time, José enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, two daughters, extended family, and two dogs.
