Natalie Vanek, M.D., joined Legacy Community Health Services in July of 2007. She earned her undergraduate degree from Baylor University, and then went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She stayed there for her internship and residency in Internal Medicine. Dr. Vanek specializes in Infectious Diseases, with a special interest in HIV care for adolescents and adults.

Prior to joining Legacy, Dr. Vanek served on the faculties of both The University of Texas and Baylor College of Medicine in their Infectious Diseases departments. She has worked at Thomas Street Clinic, providing care for HIV positive Houstonians and participating in clinical trials.

Dr. Vanek served as the chair of the Texas HIV Medication Advisory Committee and currently is a member the Texas Medicaid Drug Utilization Review Board. She received H Magazine¹s Houston¹s Top Doctors award for Infectious Diseases in 2011 and 2012. She was received the Best Female Physician award from Outsmart Magazine in 2023. Dr. Vanek has published articles in Infection & Immunology, Clinical Infectious Diseases, and Medical and Pediatric Oncology. She has been invited as a guest speaker at numerous conferences.

Dr. Vanek enjoys hanging out with her family, cooking, and going to the beach in her spare time.
