Stephanie Ramirez, Vice President of School Based Health Clinics
As Vice President of School Based Health Clinics, Stephanie Ramirez is responsible for providing operational leadership in 37 School Based Health Clinics (SBHC). Stephanie’s primary role is to engage and build relationships with school and community leadership in Galena Park ISD, KIPP and YES Prep charters to ensure that students are receiving high quality care, that clinic staff are supported in their clinical efforts and identifying opportunities for future expansion.
She has oversight of the operations team that provides day-to-day support to nurse practitioners, therapists, and medical assistants that includes vaccine and supply management, outreach events and school leadership engagement. Stephanie is also responsible for oversight of staffing, ensuring clinical efficiencies, as well as environmental and quality of care for underserved communities. Â In the near two years with Legacy, the SBHC Program has provided clinical and behavioral health care to over 94,000 students, siblings and children of school staff. It has also expanded how care is provided through the purchase of medical devices that allows nurse clinicians to provide telehealth care in a more comprehensive and detailed manner.
Stephanie received her bachelor’s degree in behavioral science and her Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. She also began her career as the youngest councilwoman in the City of South Houston history, at 23.
She lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband of almost 28 years, and dog (Cash), and enjoys morning coffee, early morning workouts, skiing, and spending time with family and friends. She is also fluent in Spanish and enjoys speaking her native language with students and their families.
